Even if i had a patch of dry/cracked skin on my finger, and I touched the syringe shortly after it was used to administer meds?

The cat did have a bite wound, and was unvaccinated, but showed no signs of rabies and was still acting normal several days after this.

Hello,
Thank you writing back.

Based on your data, the cat has no signs of rabies and was still acting normal after some days(this is important fact)I think absolutly you shouldn't worry even if you have cracked skin in your contact finger with the syringe, because there is no risk for rabies.

I hope my answer helps you.

Thanks for your replies. How deep does a cut/crack in skin need to be for rabies to transmit if saliva comes in contact with it?
2 other questions- is it worrisome that I have no way of monitoring how the cat is doing 10 days after this contact with the wet syringe? And is it worrisome thag my arm has begun to ache in the elbow/bicep/wrist areas?

and is it worrisome that my arm has discomfort in the wrist/elbow/bicep areas intermittently? This would be 7 days post contact.

Brief Answer:
The ache in your arm is not related to rabies symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I am sorry for my late response.

The cut should be a deep bleeding cut in contact with infected saliva to get a rabies infection.

I think that the ache in your arm is not related to rabies symptoms but to be surer I'd suggest doing a physical examination by a doctor.

I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.
