Question : I punched a very hard object and am pretty sure I broke middle knuckle on right hand and possibly have a piece of bone loose between index knuckle and middle knuckle is this repairable?

                                    Brief Answer:
Yes, this is repairable.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Yes, this is fixable. But first you need to have proper diagnostics. Palm x-ray should be done at first. Depending of the bones displacement, surgery might be necessary. During this procedure small bone pieces can be removed and main bone pieces stabilized with special "wires".
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

It has been about a week since this happened. I knew it was probably broken because of the sever swelling but i was just hoping that it was a small fracture and maybe i would dodge the bullet but now that the swelling is down im realizing maybe its worse then i thought. Is it important that i hurry this process up to get it checked out and fixed? Like if it takes a few weeks will it be a problem? Basically im trying to find out of i ca schedule an appointment with my primary doctor for sometime in the future or if i need to get an appointment as soon as possible. n

                                    Brief Answer:
Please have an x-ray done as soon as possible.
Detailed Answer:
A week is not that far. Depending of the bones location, it may be primary fixed. But if you will wait few more weeks, you may be disqualified from any surgery as the bones will be already grown together possible in wrong location.
So please if this is possible, at least get an x-ray done. It will be much easier to decide whats the best for you. You can even attach the image here if you wont, I should be able to tell how bad it is.
