Question : Hi, Doctor. My oral surgeon is going to try steroids injected into the gums for some gingivitis. (I have some red bumps on the gums) Will these steroids he will be injecting be beneficial to the gums issue?

I first of all thank you for approaching us with your query. I read through it . I must say that nothing to be worried just get it done. Steroids usually reduce your immunity but in some cases we tend to give steroids to reduce the over reaction by some cells of the body. Maybe in your case it might be the reason because without a strong reason we never give steroids. So please be calm and cool. You will be fine. Hope you understood what I meant.
