Question : I had a full hysterectomy nearly 4 weeks ago and had my thyroid levels checked due to increased weight gain for the last 4 months (about 20lbs). My TSH levels came back extremely low and I have been on synthroid 150mcg for nearly 16 years with no issues. My doctor wants to lower my does of Synthroid to 125mcg and I'm concerned that I'll gain even more weight! What are your thoughts? I also started taking Viville dot estrogen 10mg right after my hysterectomy. I'm 47 years old and have never been over weight. Really scared that this extra weight will stick and / or increase. Please help!!! Thank you...

Hello
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Good day.
Please do not worry.
If you have been taking taking 150 mcg for a long time now, i wouldnt be in a hurry to reduce the dose .
Such TSH abnormalities are quite common after surgery and stress. Could you please attach a copy of your complete Thyroid function tests? I would like to have a look at T4 ad T3 as well. BAsed on that we can take a decision.
