Brief Answer:
yes cymbalta will help

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

I am sorry for your son. I can understand the phase through which you are passing.

You are already taking wellbutrin 75 twice daily. If it is not effective completely adding cymbalta is likely going to help. Both drugs are from different chemical groups and their mechanism of action are different. Considering this fact cymbalta will help you if you can tolerate well.In general aged people can tolerate cymbalta well.

In my opinion cymbalta should be started with 20 mg and gradually over 3 weeks titrated up to 60 mg.

From your history I would like to add one more comment.Adding low dose benzodiazepine like clonazepam for short duration can help to relieve physical symptoms of grief.Just discuss this aspect with your treating doctor.

Wish you early recovery and functioning capability.

Take care.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
