Question : Is it safe to take Nyquil when you have a concussion? My 13 year-old daughter has a concussion and has developed a head cold. She's complaining about headaches but her head is so congested I don't know if the headaches are from the concussion, sinus congestion or both. What can I safely give her to relieve her cold symptoms? I know Advil Cold & Sinus is not recommended

You can give nyquil for headache due to sinusitis/cold

Thanks for the query

The nyquil contains acetaminophen,antiallergic and decongestant.The acetaminophen will work in headache irrespective of whether it is concussion or cold/sinusitis.So it will provide relief in both the conditions.
Apart from this the antiallergic and decongestant will help in relieving the cold.
You can also try steam inhalation as it is a very good home remedy to clear the sinuses.
The advil contains ibuprofen and it is an analgesic and won't help in congestion.
So you can give Nyquil.If condition is not improving or she develops vomiting consult your physician for further evaluation.
