Question: Is it safe to take amoxicillin 875mg 3 times a day? Also on Xanax 0.25mg for anxiety/panic disorder. My heart rate is consistently between 110-120 even if I take the Xanax. Scared and don't want to go to ER

Brief Answer:
It's safe to take Amoxicilline in these doses

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic

Amoxicilline is a penicillin antibiotic. The drug is a broad spectrum antibiotic and is safe to use. Usual doses are about 500 mg three times a day. In some individuals high doses are needed. It is safe to use the drug in doses of 875 mg thrice a day. No risk of increased anxiety with that. High doses may result in diarrhoea in some patients. Take probiotics or curd along while you take the drug.

Take the Xanax as per your prescription on SOS basis. This will reduce any anxiety attacks. Your heart rate is in higher range and for this drugs like beta blockers as Propranolol or Atenolol can help. These are anti anxiety medicines and help to reduce heart rate and are relatively safer for anxiety. The drugs are also free of any abuse potential so can be taken without any fear.

Discuss with your doctor for detailed prescription.

Thanks, Hope this helps you, if you have more doubts you can ask again

Ok thank you. I never had anxiety issues or XXXXXXX issues untill 2 weeks ago after taking first dose of zpack for for sinus in infection 45 mins later i was in ER with what i swore was a heartattack and ever since then i have been constantly shaky and SOB. They said it was a panic attack. And tried to give me Ativan i refused because im scared of medication well i ended up at er 2 more times in 2 weeks and finally agreed to try xanax. I think it stops me from going into full blown panic but still uneasy, shaky with sleepiness and H/A. My dose is 0.25mg abd they gave me 10 on 4/2 and i have 3 left as of now do i font take them often. I deal with it intill i feel my self panicing

Brief Answer:
Xanax is safe to use on SOS basis

Detailed Answer:
Hello again

I can understand your concern, a lot of individuals develop anxiety when they start antibiotics but that usually remain limited to mild increase in heart rate. Only in some individuals panic symptoms are seen.

Though Xanax or Ativan (both are benzodiazepines) have abuse potential but if taken on SOS basis they are safe. So even if you have anxiety symptoms and persistent rapid heartbeat, you can take Xanax, this will help to reduce anxiety. No need to fear.

Thanks
