Question : My son had threadworms and the whole family, including me, took a single dose of mebendazole as a precaution. I stopped breastfeeding my six month old for two and a half days so not to harm her. Is there a safe time by when I can start feeding her again or do I need to stop feeding completely?

Brief Answer: detailed below Detailed Answer: Hello. Thank you for the query. Mebendazole is absorbed from intestines only in minimal amount. Its presence in the milk is unknown. Half life time is about 3 hours. So after two days there should be no medicine in the body at all. You can start feeding again. Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions. Regards.
