Please give more details on what viral infection do you mean.
If you are having flu symptoms is better to postpone covid19 vaccination because it can be covid and it may make the symptoms worse. Even if the viral respiratory infection is not covid you may need to wait taking the vaccine.
If you have been battling a viral infection for long time such HIV or hepatitis doing covid19 vaccine as soon as possible is helpful .
