Posted on Sun, 27 Jan 2019
Question: Is it safe to use cbc oil orally to replace Norco before ercp that uses anaesthesia. Liver specialist is putting me "under" & requires that I take no pain meds prior to ercp. I have chronic pain from RA, fibromyalgia & a very recent knee injury/RA complication. Ercp is 1/8/19--this Tues. Help!!!

Brief Answer:
Safe and good alternative

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concern. Norco (Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen) might need to be omitted prior to anaesthesia and surgery and cnc oil seems to be a good alternative. It is safe and can be used in such a case. You need not worry.
