Brief Answer:
Best way is to find the cause

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Constipation can be due to different causes and hence it is necessary to find the cause.
The commonest cause is usually related to the foods and beverages. And after gall bladder surgery, the patient usually changes the diet that what was before surgery. Hence it is most important to find out which foods and beverages cause constipation and which ones help in having normal stools. As you have mentioned that she develops constipation ''every third day'' means this is not a daily problem.
What is the consistency of the stools?, color, smell, associated straining or pain in abdomen or at anal area. Detailed history will help me to assist you better.
You can discuss with your Mother's Surgeon or Doctors about adding Isabgoal husk. Please give this only if your Doctors agree. Let me know if they agree then I can tell you the doses and timings, adjustment of doses etc.
As said above find out foods and beverages that cause constipation and stop them.
I hope this answer helps you.
Awaiting for your detailed feedback.
