Is Itching And Slight Abrasion Near The Left Breast At The Same Place I Had Shingles 15 Years Back A Sign Of Its Recurrence?

Question: I had shingles about 15 years ago and have had the vaccine since then. I now have some itching and a slight abrasion line near my left breast. It is in the same place I had shingles before, but i don't have any of the other symptoms. Could it be shingles?

I am Dr kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I have noted your concern.
Perhaps the abrasion is due to itching and scratching. I suggest you to use a moisturizing and soothing lotion e.g Atarax anti itch lotion. In addition I suggest you to take an oral antihistamine e.g Cetrizine 10mg tab once a day for a few days for relief from itching.
