Is Leaking Of Ejaculate From The Vagina After Intercourse Normal?

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Sep 2015
Question: Hi,
My name is XXXX. I have a rare experience with my wife. After having sex and releasing the sperm, I see the whole sperm comes out of the vagina. I tried to avoid this by keeping myself on her body for about 10 to 15 minutes and placing a pillow under her back. Seems this is not helping.
I had the same experience with my former wife. I could not make a baby and not sure if this could contribute to a situation where I can't father a baby. I have a low sperm count.

I look forward to your response

Regards,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
It is a common phenomenon

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX I really appreciate your concern. I am Dr. Manan Patel from XXXXXXX answering your query.

First of all, male ejaculate is made of different glandular secretion and sperms. There are millions of sperm in one ml of ejaculate. Only one sperm is needed to fertilize the ovum (egg) and have a baby.

After intercourse, lot of the ejaculate does leak out of vagina which is very common and natural thing. Some of it, however, remains in the back of the vagina and an even smaller amount makes its way up through the cervix into the fallopian tubes where the sperm and ovum meet.

So, lying down for 10 to 15 minutes and using a pillow under back have not proved to have additive effect for getting pregnant.

You have decreased sperm count that can be the reason for infertility. As you are trying to increase the sperm count, your problem can be solved. Avoid stress and heat to scrotal area to increase sperm count.

Another fact is that infertility could be due to deficiency on your wife's side. I would like to ask whether your wife got tested for infertility or not.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Dr Manan,
Thanks and appreciate your feedback.Yes, my wife was checked nearly a year or two years ago. I have just uploaded the complete file of her check up. My sperm count was tested 12Million / ml. Not sure if this quantity is enough to fertilize an egg.
If you want, I can share with you the latest check that I have gone through

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Reports seems normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Your wife's reports seems normal. Sperm count of 12 million per ml is near normal range and the if the sperm motility is normal then it is enough to fertilize an ovum. So there is no need for extra interventions. Your treatment is going on right ways. My best wishes for your good health.
