Question : hi Dr XXXXXXX thank you for the feedback. the other thing I am worried about is why does he want to leave the ligament and only do it after a few months, does that not mean he has to re-open the wound again.

Yes, the wound will have to be opened again but the issue is that any surgery done in a setting of infection can be bound to fail.

This is why, once the infection is completely treated, the ligament surgery has less risk to fail due to infection.
