Question : Hi Doctor! My wife had her last period during 18th of Feb, We took couple of of Urine test which shown negative preganacy and took blood test last week which confirmed negative too. So our Gynecologist prescribed Duphaston for 5 days 2 pills a day. She had last pill on Wednesday morning. She was fine till today morning. But later today afternoon she got brown discharge and few spotting. But not periods, We are worried weather if its period or miscarriage. She never had her periods more than +- 3days difference. Its never this long.Could you tell me what could be the chance of pregnancy or period.
Brief Answer:
Likely to be a period.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Since the repeated urine tests and the blood test is negative, pregnancy is ruled out completely.
The mild spotting that she is having now is likely to be an impending period. The bleeding should gradually increase in next 2-3 days. No need to worry. This seems to be related to mild hormonal imbalance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
