Question : Hi Doctor,

I am 22 weeks 4 days pregnant. Is it safe to shift from right ti left and vice versa when i am sleeping. Normally people say that we should not suddenly turn from one side to another,it is not safe for baby as umbilical cord can go around neck.

Hello Mrs XXXXXXX welcome again. Thanks for writing in with your health query. Actually, during pregnancy every movement should be subtle and not in a hurry. It is a myth that turning from this side to other side quickly can cause cord around the neck.Baby moves with in the uterus even when we are still. So relax.
