Question : Dear doctor,
Im dealing with a lot of anxiety in past year due to havinf a risky exposure ( protected veginal sex with sex worker).
It was more than a year ago.
I have had multiple hiv tests up to one year.
At 8 weeks and 6 months i had 4th generation or Duo tests. At 4 weeks and one year i had instant or rapid test. At 7-8-10 months i had 3rd gen tests.
Thank god all were negative.
However im having weird symptoms in past one year. Had cold sores two times in past one year which i used to get them before too but never had twice in a year.
Then now i have a white spot on my left tonsil. Its very hard to take a picture. Its not oral thrush doctor confirmed that.
Do you really think im hiv negative and should move on?
Please help me

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

It is highly unlikely that you have HIV, >95%. Take one final test at 1 year since exposure, and then you will be confirmed negative. That white spot is not thrush.

Hey doc,
I actually asked you a question about this and you told me one year. I took another test after one year and in between i had no exposure whatsoever.
The last test was in nhs clinic in london and the nurse said one year is not neccessary at all and you are absaloutely fine however i still did it and it was negative.
So in short i had more than 8 hiv test since last year. All negative and up to 13 months after last exposure.
Whats your opinion on that?
