Question : I have been on SSRIs for 10+ years. Currently I am on Prozac 30mg. I have taken the warning not to drink alcohol while taking SSRIs seriously and just don't drink. Now I'm going to Germany in a few weeks and my travel companions have asked me if I can have just a little, and, not even a sip to taste it? I just dont know what to say, maybe I am being too ridged. I had elevated liver enzimes to years ago. Since then, I have gotten them back to normal, im also thinking if I drink I am one step closer to NAFLD.
Am I being too rigid?

Brief Answer:
You are not rigid, you are practical

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Rather than calling yourself rigid, call yourself a person who is willing to take care of her health. There is nothing wrong in not accepting alcohol when it is contraindicated.

I will support the idea of complete abstinence from alcohol considering the current medications and elevated liver enzymes.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards
