Question : I have a sharp, localized stabbing/stinging pain under my left arm. Hurts periodically to touch, not always. Hurts with some movement.

I would need to ask how long you have been having the symptoms. If it has acutely started I would insist you to get urgent medical attention as it could be due to heart related issues and could be serious. However, if it has been there for sometime you would still need to be examined clinically. It could be possibly due to a muscle spasm. Hot compress should provide relief.
