Question : Second attempt: Is peripheral neuropathy pain ever reversible. I am first time diabetic leg ulcer patient. Ulcers are healing, but pain is awful. 2 wks of Oxy & then Tramadol and still hurts. No meds right now for pain.Is this such a blighted category that I have no alternatives?

Brief Answer:
Pain relief with Gabapentin and capsaicin

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
Peripheral neuropathy in diabetes is seldom reversible. The pain is reducible with Neurontin (Gabapentin ) and capsaicin local application in many of my patients.
Please do not become dependant on Tramadol.
Take care,
Dr Noble Zachariah.
