Question : I am 45 year female. I have been diagnosed Dengue positive on 3rd Aug, 2017. I was hospitalized and given treatment for a week. The lowest platelet count had been 38000. The recent blood test last week showed 3.73 lacs.
I am recovering at home now. However, I see a lot symptoms which I am finding difficult to handle and would want to know when I will get relief from them. Currently, I am taking multivitamin tablet A to Z, Dvion, Evion.

1.     I get severe headaches, pain all around the skull, eyes and back of ears lasting for hours and get no relief from any pain killers. The pain is very intense and unbearable. I have severe joint and muscle pains. The calf muscle, thigs and back muscles. These have been persistent from beginning. Even with little walk they become very stiff.

Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to electrolyte imbalance

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. You need not worry about the dengue episode any further. You can continue to take Evion but I do not think that you need to take A to Z. It seems that somehow you have developed an electrolyte imbalance. That could be responsible fo rthe aches you report. I would insist you to take juicy fruits like citrus fruits. They contain plenty of potassium which should help in proper functioning of the muscles and in reduction of the cramps. You also need to increase total fluid (water) intake and to take plenty of ORS (oral rehydration solution) to replenish the lost fluids and salts. I would also insist you to take paracetamol 500 mg two tabs (i.e. 1g per dose) when needed.

Let me know if I could help further.
