Is Platelet Count Of 6.5 A Cause For Concern?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Nov 2015
Question: I have low platelet count 6.5 (7.5-11something) & low white blood count (the one that starts with L) 21.1%. I have nausea in the morning same time (not pregnant) sore muscles , noticed big bruise on thigh out of nowhere (doesn't turn white when you press on it) but other small bruises I have do. I know it's not super low numbers but it's right below average and was wondering if it's something to worry about

Brief Answer:
It may be due to some viral infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

You have nausea, sore muscle and bruise on thigh. All can be seen in viral infection.
Normal platelet count is 1.5 lac to 4 lac/cu mm. Please tell me units of your platelet count or send me your blood reports so that I can see other parameters.

The WBC that start with L ( lymphocytes) are normal. No need to worry about that. But Total WBC count and other differential counts are is needed.

So please send me your reports of complete blood count so that I can help you further.

Hope I have answered your question. I will wait for your reports.

If you are health wise ok then nothing to worry about your reports. Virus will not stay that long. So don't worry about your reports.
If you have any symptoms then only it is matter of concern.
Please send me your complete blood count report and all other reports you have gone through if you are ill. If you are healthy then forgot the report and be relaxed.
