Is Pregnancy Advisable While On DOTS Treatment?

Question: My best friend (24 yes old girl) is having TB (right side neck I.e.,lymphosite..she dont have cough and cold at all) and she is taking DOTS treatment since a month. When she can get married and Taking these medicines will affect her pregnancy ???
note: she is taking the medicines regularly without fail and her family gonna search for alliance after 5 months..

Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
Tubercular Lymphadenitis is completely treatable with in 6-9 months of treatment.
As Far as getting married is concerned there is no problem is getting married now or even after completing the course.
As Far as pregnancy is concerned, it should be planned only when disease has been completely cured and she is off medicines completely.
This diseases if treated properly doesn't cause any disturbance in married life as well as in family planning.

Tuberculosis itself can effect the Fallopian tube that too only if it has reached there.
Otherwise, Anti tubercular drugs directly don't effect the fallopian tubes.

Hi,
Taking the medicines will definitely affect the liver..So what are all the precautions to be taken to save the liver from this?? What kind of supplements to be taken for this?

Not necessarily.

Hi, it's not necessary that the medicines would surely effect the liver but chances are there.
She should take plenty of fluids , fruits and vegetables. Avoid pain killers.
As far as supplements are concerned she may take Liv 52 for this purpose.
