Question : Hi, I am about 4-5 weeks. My hcg was 315 on Monday when I had ultrasound. On Tuesday I started to bleed heavy red blood with some clots. Went to ER where they called it threatened miscarriage and to rest a few days. My OB saw me on Wednesdays to test hcg levels which was 750. I'm still bleeding not filling pad only comes when I use the bathroom. Do you think I still have a viable pregnancy?

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. Yes, in some cases even of there is bleeding, pregnancy remains viable. I usually suggest such patients to get weekly ultrasound for few weeks to confirm Fetal Cardiac Activity(FCA). I would suggest you same. If scan confirms presence of FCA then you need not to worry.

Yes it can. On the other hand bleeding can also be due to implantation as well. I would suggest you to take adequate rest for 1-2 weeks and visit your treating Dr next week for follow-up scan and share the results with me as well so that i can guide you further.
