Question : Hi , I had unprotected sex on the 30th July, last period was on 23 July and lasted five days. I took an ipill in three hours and did not experience any bleeding after. My next period was expected on 16 Aug , but its 6 days late now . I took four hpt on 19 , all negative. What are the chances of me being pregnant.

                                    Brief Answer:
wait for a week if pregnancy is ruled out.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
If the urine pregnancy tests have been negative after 6 days post missed periods then you are not pregnant and the menses may be delayed due to side effect of ipill itself. So just wait for a week more for allowing the menses to start else you may opt for a withdrawal bleed with progesterones.
Regards

To follow up, I got a beta hcg blood test yesterday, on 23 August and the result was < 2.39 mIU/ml. However I still haven't gotten my periods, 8 days late, and my last menstrual period was on 23 July as mentioned. My expected period was on the 16th August. Have I taken the test too early or is it reliable?

Hello,
The serum beta hcg levels as on yesterday being less than 3mIU, rules out pregnancy totally. Beta hcg test is conclusive even after 8 days post last intercourse so the test done yesterday is reliable.
You may wait for a week more to allow the menses to resume naturally. If it does not resume then you may opt for a withdrawal bleed with progesterones to allow menses to resume.
The present delay in absence of pregnancy can be due to stress induced hormonal imbalances and should be temporary.
