Question : Unwanted 72 was taken on 27th march within 24hrs since leakage frm condom was suspected. Last period was on 16th march..Had bleeding(withdrawl bleeding) on 6th april for 3days less compared to period. Next period date was on 15-16th april..But bleeding occured on 21th april but very less 20% for one day only..So is this a period bleeding or anything else?? or anything regarding pregnancy ??

Brief Answer:
Mostly effect of unwanted 72. Do pregnancy test to clear doubt.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) Generally, unwanted 72 pill gives more than 95% protection against unwanted pregnancy irrespective of fertile period if taken within 24 hrs. In this case, your chance of pregnancy is extremely LOW to NIL.

2) You also got withdrawal bleeding on 6th April due to effect of the pill and it is quite common phenomena. Most women get this type of bleeding. Maintain genital hygiene properly.

3) Light bleeding on 21st may be due to side effect of unwanted 72 as a result of hormonal imbalance and associated stress. However, I suggest to undergo one home pregnancy test to exclude minimal chance of pregnancy.

Hope, I have answered your query. Practice safe sex in future. Good luck.

Brief Answer:
More than 99% accurate. Do the test with morning urine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Welcome back again.

1) Yes, home pregnancy test is more than 99% accurate if it is done after missed period. It is preliminary test. However, blood test for beta-hCG is more reliable.

2) You can do home pregnancy test with morning urine sample (2 drops) at any time. There is NO specified time limit.

3) TWO line indicates POSITIVE test and ONE line indicates NEGATIVE test for pregnancy. Review with test result.

Hope, it helps for your information. Good luck and take care.
