Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Oral Contraceptive Pill?
Question: I want to ask about my situation as I am confused. I had a contraception failure on Sunday night/early Monday morning when the condom ripped. However just prior to this incident I was having spotting that I usually get just before my period, and my period was due the next day. However after thinking about the situation I decided to get XXXXXXX one morning after pill. The day after taking XXXXXXX one I woke up with bleeding and period cramps. As my period was due around this time, im wondering if this is my period of if it is a side effect from the pill?
Brief Answer:
its your menstrual bleed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
The bleeding the next day of taking XXXXXXX one morning after pill is your menses and not any side effect of the pill, simply because the withdrawal bleed following morning after pill occurs only by next 507 days.
As you had your bleeding started a day prior to intercourse and its your due date as well for periods so its more likely that the bleeding is your menses and you are naturally pregnancy safe.
Just watch the bleeding and if it continues for naturally 3-4 days then you are starting a fresh cycle.
Regards
