
Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Oral Contraceptive?

Question : Hi Doctor,
I and my girlfriend had unprotected sex on 20th of august.she was having period at that time she took ipill on 21st August in morning. And her period stopped the next day.she had her next period on 21st of September and then again on 23rd of October.but from past few days she is having headaches and feeling dizzy and having mood swings.She is a bit tensed about being pregnant.She took UPT on 12TH of September which came out negative.Do we need to worry about her getting pregnant??? What needs to be checked.please help

It is normal to have an irregular bleeding or a decrease in bleeding after taking an I-pill. Since she has had periods twice after having the pill, there is absolutely no chance of pregnancy now. The symptoms that she is having can be due to stress and anxiety. Nothing needs to be done. There is no need to re check for pregnancy.
