Question : I had unprotected sex with a friend of mine on 23rd May'16 and she had her last period on 9th May'16. Immediately after the sex, she took Unwanted 72 within 8-9 hours. The thing is she still hasn't got her period but she is feeling irritated and all since she took that pill. Is there any chance that she is pregnant? Please help.

Hello and welcome to HCM. Thanks for writing in to us with your health query. I completely understand your concerns regarding the issue. The time of your inrercourse is the unsafe period that is between 10th and 18th day of cycle . emergency contraceptive pill can also prepone the period as well as postpone the period. So I will advise you to wait for another 2-3 days, idf till then period doesnt come then she has to take urine pregnancy test . I will advise you to keep calm till then. Regards Dr Manisha Jain
