Question : 1.Hi me and my girlfriend had sex on 2nd march. I didn't ejaculate and I was inside her for say some 20 seconds without any protection. is pregnancy possible with this but to be on a safer side with in 24 hours she had a pill named Option 72. She had her mensuration cycle between 17th to 20th march every month. But she didn't get her periods however on 13th march she had little bit of bleeding without any pain. And she said there were no blood clots. Usually she get blood clots in her periods. The bleeding stopped after sometime and is still stopped. I am too worried is it normal or is it something like implantation bleeding? did she pregnant or wad? do we need to go for medical test to get the clarification plz help us we are toooo tensed

Brief Answer:
Rare to minimal chance of pregnancy. Do pregnancy test.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) According to expected period date, you involved in unprotected sex without ejaculation around her fertile days.

However, she took Option 72 within first 24 hrs to be safe and it will give extra protection (more than 95%) against unwanted pregnancy.

In this case, her chance of pregnancy is very much RARE to MINIMAL (less than 1%) and it depends on pre-cum (secreted prior ejaculation).

2) She got little bleeding on 13th March due to effect of the emergency pill. It is called withdrawal bleeding. It is quite common phenomena.

However, I suggest her to undergo one home pregnancy test as she doesn't get her expected period properly.

Hope, I have answered your query. Review with test result. Good luck.

Brief Answer:
Do home pregnancy test at the earliest.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back again.

1) Her period is delayed due to hormonal imbalance (effect of the pill) and extra mental stress or tension.

2) Home pregnancy test with morning urine sample can be done soon after missed period. She can do the test anytime from now.

3) Blood test for beta-hCG is more accurate in early stage than home urine pregnancy test. It is more reliable.

4) If pregnancy test is positive, I can give you a guideline for medical abortion. It can be done up to 9 weeks from LMP with abortion pills.

However, it is better to contact with local doctor or gynecologist to get a complete prescription. Otherwise, medical store may NOT give you those medicines. It will be helpful in emergency situation when there is excessive vaginal bleeding or abdominal cramp during abortion process.

Hope, it helps for your information. Review with test result. Good luck.

Brief Answer:
Beta-hCG level > 25 mIU/ml - Positive test.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Welcome back again.

Blood test for beta-hCG is quantitative estimation of the hormone. You will get a value. If it is more than 25 mIU/ ml, then possibility of pregnancy is HIGH and test is POSITIVE. Normal value is less than 5 mIU/ ml in non-pregnant women.

Yes, one test is enough to confirm pregnancy. It is more reliable than home pregnancy test.

Kindly, review with test report for further suggestion. You can upload or attach it by tomorrow.

Hope, I have answered your query. Good luck and take care.

Brief Answer:
No chance of pregnancy. Wait for period.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for your update. I have reviewed your attached report.

1) Beta-hCG level <0.1 suggests that she is NOT pregnant. Therefore, you wouldn't be worried about that.

2) I suggest her to await another 4-5 days to get back her period naturally. You should give update after 5 days if she doesn't get her period.

She can take some foods like broccoli, Fennel seeds, green vegetables, egg, Yoghurt, soy milk, red grapes, tofu, sesame seeds etc to induce period.

Be stress free, maintain genital hygiene and take sound sleep. Good luck.
