Is Pregnancy Possible Through Protected Intercourse?

Question: Dear Doctor,
Greeting.

I had sex yesterday with my partner, i Am 28 yrs old.I have sex very first time.
My abdomen is paining and also my thys.
he used condom bt i m not sure of the quality of condom.i am worried about pregnancy.
My date was over on 5 may and i have sex on 16 may around 2 to 5 pm.
Do i need to take ipill?will it workable if taken witjin 72 hrs.my weight is just 46 kg.during sex i hv pain. My pennis size is also not very big.
I had 2 session.very short.1st maincorrse 5-7 min. 2nd 10-12 min.he was very gentle during sex.
Any side effect of it.
I want to avoid pregnancy.
Please help.

Brief answer...do take I pill if you want to avoid pregnancy and don't get tensed.

Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
You must definitely take I pill as it offers you the best chance to avoid pregnancy.
The efficacy of I pill is 95% if taken within first 24 hours of unprotected sex.
This efficacy however,reduces to 85 % if taken within 25 to 48 hours and to 58% if taken within 49 to 72 hours.
It is not supposed to be effective after 72 hours.
Since you did unprotected sex on 16th may between 2-5 pm,you can take it now and this would be around 85% effective.
Since use of I pill is not 100% safe,you do have some chances of pregnancy.
You can think of termination of pregnancy if you miss your subsequent period and pregnancy gets confirmed.

Thankyou doctor.

I mentioned in my query that he used condom, we had protected sex but i am worried about pregnancy.because i read condom are not 100% effective to avoid pregnancy.there ate 2 -3% chances of pregnancy still.

As we have protected sex. do i still needs to take ipill???

Or i should wait for my period?????

I will do home pregnancy test on my due date of period. If pregnancy will confirm, which medicine should take to avoid pregnancy??????

I am very much worried.

I am not physically fit.my weight is 45 kg.
Lack of calcium and hemoglobin.got recover from fever few weeks ago.

Hello,
No contraceptive method is 100% safe.
You can take I pill to be very very safe,although you used condom but unsure of the leakage.
Other method can be waiting for your periods.If your periods don't come in time and pregnancy is confirmed,then you will have to go for abortion.
Both the approaches are right and it depends upon you which to choose from.
As far as abortion is concerned,we never advise you to take pills yourself as it can be life threatening in some.
It would be best for you to consult a doctor and then follow his/her advice.
Side effects of I pill are minor.
There is no problem in taking I pill even if you are deficient in calcium and hemoglobin.
Yes you can take I pill now and better would be to take it as early as possible for the best efficacy.
