Brief Answer:
Pregnancy is very unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

I would like to know why your wife has taken Meprate. I would also like to inform you that if she has taken only five days medication, she is likely to get another episode of bleeding, due to hormone withdrawal. This can happen anytime between 3-7 days after completion of the treatment.

Pregnancy is unlikely in the current scenario. Also, if your wife has regular 28-30 day cycles, she is in the safe period now. This offers natural protection.

Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.

She had Meprate to delay the periods due to our marriage as doctor suggested. She started taking the tablets on the 2nd of her periods for 5 days and we had unprotected sex on the last day of the tablets. She have cycles on every 24 days. Hope she is in safe side.

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

With a normal menstrual cycle, ovulation occurs two weeks prior to the onset of the next period. Since your wife has a 24-day cycle, she is likely to ovulate around the 10th day of her cycle. Any intercourse around this period is considered unsafe.

In the current scenario, her chances of conception are highly unlikely. The causes being, firstly, she is in her natural safe period, secondly, the intake of progestogen is likely to interrupt the normal cyclical pattern thereby delaying or inhibiting ovulation in this cycle. So, pregnancy is unlikely.

Hope this helps.

regards,
Shanti.V.
