Question : I am 24 year old female, 264 pounds. I take a regular birth controls pill daily within the same hour every day and only missed one pill in the pack this month. It is the week before I should get my period. I had unprotected intercourse. I took plan b, my regular birth control pill and douched twice. How likely am I to still get pregnant?

Thanks for writing to us about it.

I can understand your concern, though.

The probabilities of pregnancy are less in your case as you had plan -b as well as well as your birth control pill and you forgot your last weeks pill.

But, studies do show that Plan-B is less effective in obese patients, so chances of pregnancy cannot be ruled out 100%.

Please go for a home urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy if you are 7 days overdue for your menses.
