Prolotherapy is done usually for pain relief by injecting dextrose/phenol/glycerine and lidocain, a local anesthetic, into tendon or joint or soft tissue area .
it is a safe procedure and may only require mild pain medicine later on , like acetaminophen.
Therapy may be repeated, depending on diagnosis and site, after a few days or weeks
