default
Posted on Fri, 7 Jun 2024
Question: Hi, is propranolol good to take with Valium? I’m on a weaning schedule lab for Valium. Would the propranolol help when I have extra anxiety with the Valium?
Any side effects or problems I’d stop taking it etc?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Using propranolol alongside Valium have no such side effects, but they
may have potential benefits for managing anxiety symptoms, as they work through different mechanisms. Propranolol can help control physical symptoms of anxiety, while Valium is a benzodiazepine that primarily targets the brain to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety.

Propranolol may cause side effects such as fatigue, dizziness, low blood pressure, and cold hands or feet. Valium can cause drowsiness, confusion, dizziness, and impaired coordination. But together they don't have any serious interaction.
