default
Posted on Wed, 30 Sep 2015
Question: Hi doctor, my fiancee had a knee cartilage transplant and got infected by pseudomonas bacteria in her knee.

We kiss a lot, heard it's contagious. Is it true?

If so then can it get transmitted to me by saliva?

Please help!

Thanks XXXX

Brief Answer:
You cannot get pseudomonas infecting her knee transmitted through her saliv

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query and I have understood your concern.

It is not possible that pseudomonas infecting her knee joint can get transmitted to you through her saliva. No way. Infection is in her knee. Not in her mouth. Therefore, kissing is absolutely safe.
