Is Psoriasis Curable?

Question: my hubby is diagnosed with psoriasis since 10+ years..is this disease curable? what are d treatment regimen? i wanna know is this psoriasis could be transferred to offsprings too through genes ?

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder.
It involves mainly skin and sometime joints.
Psoriasis can be controlled but cannot be totally treated.
Depending upon the area of involvement topical or oral treatment is given.
Topical steroid creams and immunomodulators like tacrolimus form the main stay of treatment.
Psoriasis has genetic linkage and can be transferred to offsprings.
The risk is about 6- 7 %.

but corticosteriods are not gud fr long run rt? be it in d topical form or systemic route? it cud cause hpa axis supression and over all immunity cud be altered rt?

Thanks for the follow up.
Yes you are correct steroids can have side effects.
In order to minimize it we prescribe a strong steroid initially and taper off slowly to milder steroids and then stop.
Immunomodulators are safe and hence are continued throughout.
