Question : If I have a strong sensitivity to penicillin, does that mean I will also have a strong sensitivity to Flucloxacillin, please?

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
Flucloxacillin is beta lactam group of antibiotic.
This beta lactam group contains penicillin and cephalosporin group of antibiotics.
And flucloxacillin is penicillin group of antibiotic.
In in penicillin group, cross sensitivity is very common.
So if you are allergic to penicillin then you will also get allergy with flucloxacillin.
So better not to take flucloxacillin and replace it with other group of antibiotic.
