HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are guidelines which are used to determine candidates are appropriate for surgery.
In general, surgery is not suggested for patients who are asymptomatic (have no symptoms). According to the world gastroenterology organisation guideline, surgery is only recommended in(1) those who live in remote regions where there may be difficulty accessing care in an emergency situation.
(2)those with immunosuppression
(3) elderly with insulin dependent diabetics
(4)rapid weight loss

Surgery is otherwise only indicated when a person presents with signs or symptoms related to the stones in the gallbladder, bile ducts or pancreas.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
