Is Seacure And Dupston Safe To Take During Pregnancy?
Question: I am 10 weeks Pregnant and my doc advised me to use seacura 200mg twice daily. Is it safe to use twice, initially I have taken dupston for 20 days along with seacura.

Tablet Secure is a progesterone. Duphaston is also a progesterone. The indications for these drugs are mostly when there is a suspicion that the pregnancy may abort. However some doctors use it even when there is no such reson just to be more safe. There is no need to use both of them together. Using only secure or duphaston alone is enough. They are both safe and do not cause any harm. You can use it twice there is no harm.
It would help me if you can provide me the answers about how long you have been married and if there were any previous pregnancies and abortions in the past. Also if you had regular menstrual cycles or not and history of any other illness.
I have seen the Ultrasound report. It is normal except for the cysts. They are also common and do not cause any harm. Most of the time they disappear by themselves. They are small and there is no need to worry about them.
Please also check if you are using folic acid tablets along with the secure tablet. Most likely you must be using them. If not then get it prescribed by your doctor. They are used to prevent brain defects in the baby.

Thanks for the response doctor.I am married 4 months ago,my 1st pregnancy and my cycles were regular.
I am taking All9 tablet along with seacure,will this be ok for folic acid doctor?And also for the past few weeks I have severe burning sensation on my left hip followed by numbness and pain,these days only burning in hip and sometimes in my upper thigh,my doc suggested dolo500,but that has no effect.And also I have bleeding(dark) in my saliva every first spit.And my doc has prescribed digene syrub and citralka syrub with water thrice a day.

Now for your queries, It is Ok to go to an infertility specialist for treatment. That is fine.
The regular cycles and conception so early on and absence of any previous abortions are all good signs. This measn that you do not need too much of progesterone.
About the All 9 tablets. They contain amino acids [ they are needed to build proteins]. They are not needed so early on in pregnancy. They do not contain folic acid. So please check with your doctor or the label of the tablet to see if it contains folic acid or folate as the content. If you are not receiving folic acid start it now as it is important for the baby.
About your other issues: I am not sure about the medicines you are receiving. Tablet dolo causes acidity and at the same time you are receiving antacids [digene for blood in spit]. From your history it seems that you are having bleeding from gums. This is a common problem during pregnancy and resolves by itself after delivery or even earlier in some women. So please stop the digene [ if there is no acidity] also stop the citralka. The burning, bleeding all indicate vitamin deficiencies. Please start to eat atleast 2 fruits daily. Use different fruits [ all except papaya as its seeds can cause abortion]. Eat lots of oranges and all seasonal fruits. They have vitamin C and help control gum bleed. Also eat green vegetables and salads. Start tablet B complex. It will provide all the vitamins and also tablet folic acid. The burning will take a few weeks to resolve after treatment.
Another reason for burning may be herpes [ a viral infection]. It causes burning and rash. So check if there is a rash on the area.
I also suggest that you have all your medicines rechecked and get a evaluation from another gynecologist as you are receiving multiple drugs. It is not advisable to take many drugs during the first three months due to their potential effects on the baby. So just visit another gynecologist and get an opinion.
In my opinion there is no need for the high doses of progesterone [ low doses would suffice], add folic acid and B complex and that is all that you need as of now.

Thank you doctor.I have uploaded my thyroid report and my doc has given thyronorm 12.5mg tablet before food and she has prescribed supracal 1000mg when I said burning sensation near hip.can i take these tablets?

Yes the all nine is sufficient. The thyroid is just marginally above the upper limit. We usually do not start treatment before 5.0. But 12.5 thyronorm should be OK it is very low dose. So you may take thyronorm for 2 months and then repeat the test. The dose may be adjusted accordingly or you may even not need it.
Having a slight white discharge is not a cause of concern. However if the discharge increases or becomes yellow or has an odour, please get a vaginal swab test done.
For the burning sensation, you are already taking all 9, so please add fresh fruits at least 2-3 [ servings] per day to your diet along with sprouts to pep up your B vitamins. You may take supracal but we prefer not to give any drugs in the first 3 months as this is the oeriod when the babies organs are getting formed. Some drugs may interfere with this process and then cause abnormal organ formation so it is best to use minimal and safe drugs during the first 3 months. Supracal is calcium, drink a glass of milk instead of the tablet and you should be fine. You will need this tablet after the first 3 months when the need for calcium increases.
Unfortunately I do not know any gynecologist in Bangalore, but you can visit any one who is an MD Ob Gyn with at least 5-6 years of experience and that should be fine.
