Question: Hello, I have recently been referred to a hematologist by my PCP for persistent leukopenia. Year over Year decrease of WBC down to 3.1, Neutrophils at 1.58, and platelets at 144. I did not receive an explanation and it has been near impossible to connect with my PCP since the referral. I am extremal anxious about this with little information I ended up with

Hi,

WBC count is bit low and reduced over time, but not alarming. Platelet count will be considered normal only while hemoglobin is normal. So I would just continue follow up every 3 months with blood counts.

I don't think there is any intervention required at present. Hope this helps.
