Question : Hello, doctor. A few months ago, had a CAT scan that showed some plaque in or around aeorta. Radiologist suggested I follow up with a cardiologist which I did do. He did an EKG, ultra sound echo and a stress test and all came out fine - he saw no issue with the heart. My question is this. Is some plaque common with age? I am 66. Thanks for your answer.
Brief Answer:
Kindly refer to the detailed information provided
Detailed Answer:
Hello
After going through the Medical query, I can understand your concern, and I would like to tell you that some amount of blocking is fairly common in majority of the population after 50 years of age.
As your treating cardiologist has done all the basic preliminary cardiac evaluation Which fortunately has turned out to be normal, so there is nothing we should be concerned of. However, it is important to follow healthy lifestyle habits.
Hope this will relieve your concerns.
Thanks and Regards

Hello, Dr Mahajan. I am on Crestor. Is this one of the better statins? Also, I noticed Dr. Bartap did not answer prior inquiry. Are u a cardiologist as well?
Brief Answer:
Hello again
Detailed Answer:
Yes, crestor contains Rosuvastatin which is a potent statin.
Which prior query you are talking about? There is some misunderstanding I believe. Kindly check. And yes, I am a clinical cardiology practitioner with over 10 years of experience.
Thanks
