Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Night meals whether sugar or others should be avoided. The last meal should be taken 3 hours before bed time.

Sugar alone isn't a common exacerbating factor in GERD. Its intake is permitted in moderate amount. However, the carbohydrate portion in general should be obtained via complex sugars rather than simple sugars.

For diabetes , consuming sugar should be avoided as it undermines good glycemic control.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
