Question : Im scheduled for right elbow bursa sac removal Monday--injured in a fall onto the point of the elbow 6 weeks ago. stitches came out and now it drains heavily and looks bad, not having healed at all. ORTHO DOC ADVISES REMOVAL SURGERY. after looking online, Im not so sure.....your thoughts?

Well, I would definitely recommend surgery since it is routine procedure, it will solve your problems and bursa doesn't have significant function in elbow.

Complications of surgery are minor and recovery is quick.
