Is Taking Clomid Safe After Discontinuing IUI?

Question : Hello. My doctor told me this month to take a break from IUI because of my husbands count. At the same time he said I could still take the clomid on day 5-9 to improve my chances but I would not do cycle monitoring or a trigger shot of ovidrel. Is that safe?

If your doctor does not want to monitor please don't take Clomid. It's not safe.

Please attach few copies of your husband's semen analysts report.

I do not have them. All i know is that my husband had a vasectomy reversal. After his count went from 1M right after to 13M. We then went to do the IUI and it was around 10k. So we went back the next week thinking it was an anomaly and it was so low that they froze it for IVF (although i am still unclear as to whether any sperm was viable but they froze it anyways?). That is when they cancelled the IUI told us to take a break but said we could still take the clomid on our own. I do not understand what happened at all .

Hi,

Vasectomy reversal is not associated with great outcomes.

Hence count could be low.

You are likely to conceive by IVF only and not IUI.

Go ahead with IVF soon.
