Question : IS THE USE OF STALEVO ASSOCIATED WITH COMPULSIVE BEHAVIOR AND HYPESEXUALITY?
MY WIFE AND I ALMOST BROKE P AFTER MY TERRIBLE BEHAVIOR ON MIRAPAX AND I HAVE BEEN LESS COMPULIVE AND LESS SEXUALLY ORIENTED ON STALEVO.
I WANT TO TRY RYTARY THE NEWLY FDA APPROVED CONFIGURATION OF CARB/LEV/ EXT RELEASE BUT THE SIDE AFFECTS MENTION HYPERSEXUALITY AND COMPULSIVE PROBS BUT I BELIEVE SO DOES STALEVO. AM I RIGHT?

                                    Brief Answer:
It can occur with both the drugs
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.
I have read your query and understood your concerns.
The difference between stalevo and rytary is minor. Stalevo contains levodopa/carbidopa and entacapone while rytary does not contain entacapone.
It has been reported that compulsive behavior and hypersexuality or hallucination occur more frequently with dopamine agonists like mirapax. The chances of same side effects with levodopa and carbidopa combination is less but it can occur.
Side effects of stalevo and rytary are same, you are right.
Hope I have answered your query. If you do not have further query then close the discussion and rate the answer.
Wish you good health.
