Question : My husband has started Nicotine patches 21 or 24 mg. He still smokes while on the patch. Can he get nicotine poisoning or overdose by doing this?

Yes using patch and smoking cause overdose related side effects like confusion, sweating, decreased heart rate etc. Because both provide nicotine into the body.

If he has already developed any symptoms then consult your doctor immediately .

He should quit smoking. Then only the nicotine patch will be useful.
