Question : I have a fracture on my elbow. It happened on the 22nd of April and has been in a cast since. Is there any alternative to the cast? Like a brace, I'm super uncomfortable
Brief Answer:
Continue cast
Detailed Answer:
Hi Siddhant , I am Dr Gopal Goel, Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have seen the reports - which says that you have undisplaced # Distal end humerus (L). I have not seen the x rays.
In my opinion this requires immobilization for 3 - 6 weeks depending on the level of fracture. Braces generally do not help much except some conditions.
In my opinion continue cast for the required duration as suggested by Your orthopedic doctor.
If there is discomfort , you should get it physically checked by your orthopedic surgeon to rule out any excessive swelling at fracture site.
Thanks for the question. I hope to have answered your question. Pl feel free to ask any other question.

Anything I can do about itchiness? Or felling like I want to straighten my arm? Also I do get pulsating pains sometimes
Brief Answer:
Pl consult your orthopedic surgeon.
Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel.
The answer to both your queries - you need physical examination and if the plaster is loose- perhaps tightening is required.
Itching is normal for a few days after plaster is applied, Will be over soon.
