Question : Is there any connection between Iron/supplemental iron to Sarcoidosis? Could it cause or worsen it?
Brief Answer:
no there is no connection
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
There is no known association between iron and sarcoidosis. It is not considered one of the causative agents, even though cause of sarcoidosis is not fully known yet.
Iron is not likely to worsen sarcoidosis, at least there is no such reported case. If there is proven iron deficiency in a person with sarcoidosis, then it should be supplemented, without any doubt.
Hope this helps.
Regards
no there is no connection
