Question : Sir, I am a man of 37. I was facing problems to see distant objects since about 10-15 years but I checked my eyes in May 2013 and found the power of sph -1.75 & cyl -1.5 in both the eyes ( eye prescription attached ). I started using glasses and was checking my eyes in regular intervals till Oct 2015 and found no change in the power. Till today I am not facing any problems but when I normally checked my eyes today , It was said that it has been worsened to -2.5 & -3.25 sph and -1.75 & -1 cyl. I doubt whether this can happen or should I check it again( because I am comfortable with the current glass). I attached both the prescriptions. Is there any chance that myopia can be worsen after being constant for 2.5 years ????
Is there still any chance that my eye conditions can be improved????

Hi,

I have gone through your query as well as the attachments. Let me tell you that myopia can indeed worsen after remaining static for 2.5 years. Such a thing is not unlikely but nevertheless, since there is a confusion, I would insist you to get your eye power rechecked from elsewhere.

Since you have a cylindrical power (along with a spherical component), you would benefit from the use of contact lenses. They would also restrict the eye power fluctuations.

Sir, I am preparing for an exam and there is a criterion not to exceed myopia of 4D including cylinder But I am tensed whether I am eligible with the present glass prescription or not It says that I have myopia of -2.5 & -3 .25 sph and -1.75 & -1 cyl respectively with V/A 6/6 I am attaching the criterion glass prescription and the criterion. Am I eligible according to the present glass prescription Is there any chance of improvement in future ????

Hi,

* whether you can get an eye evaluation without getting the records documented with respect to the exam that you are taking. If yes, please go ahead and get yourself evaluated. If not, I would need to ask about the exact interval before you actually appear for the examination.
* With contact lenses the eye power as well as the visual clarity can improve reasonably eventually.
